(I liked my layering convention I used in LDD better than NCS, but with C3D, I figured early-on I wasn't gonna beat em so I joined em. You have lines and polylines that I've assigned to (as close as I could) NCS layering conventions. What I do is have a hierarchy of different "lines" that all look the same. (John I see posted on this thread, which is why I singled him out, but there are many others.) And I should say I'm way more the benefactor of ideas from people like et al. This permits unique layers per object/network IF desired for pipes, surfaces, alignments, etc. Note with the Object Layer Settings - Build on an as-need basis and note that an * symbol in a prefix or suffix name will add the object name to the layer. Use the Settings tab to globally assign your text style, heights, etc and build your styles on an as need basis. If starting from scratch get the autocad stuff into your new file. Use TomR's hack for importing any Object Layer Settings you may have from another file Use the Importstylesandsetting command if there are good civil 3d styles to import from another file.Ĥ. Open design center and drag in required layers, blocks, linetypes, text, dim styles from other dwg or dwt files.ģ. This file is two old and dumb to know anything about C3D or it's previous versions. Start a new file using an R12 acad.dwt file. ![]()
